Here is Sara's first day of school picture. She wasn't pleased to be going back to school. As she put it "Why did you have to wake me up, I just want to sleep!" Me too Sara, me too!
She did have a good day though! Her teachers insist that she has a wonderful time and is happily playing while I'm gone. I think Sara is just going for the guilt factor when she tells me she just wants to be home with me all day! Nothing like a little Mommy Guilt!

Robinson's Creek
Our final trip of the summer was by far the best. It was our longest and furthest trailer trip yet. The first leg of the journey was to Robinson's Creek. We were extremely lucky to find a cancellation on the website a few months prior to our trip. Usually all campgrounds in the area fill up 6 months out, to the day.
No matter where we go, baseball always manages to get worked in. Beach camping, forest camping...anywhere! The night below, they were playing and a family of deer walked through our campsite. This was day 3 of the trip so the kids were use to seeing the deer at this point. At first the kids were interested in the babies but soon went back to their game. How often do they play baseball with deer less than 10 feet away!? Obviously the deer felt safe!
Robinson's Creek is near Bridgeport, about a 7 1/2 hour drive, past Mammoth toward the back entrance of Yosemite. The kids did pretty darn well for being sardines in a can for that long. Our campsite was tucked into the trees, right on the creek. In front of our trailer was a paved road for baseball, and bike riding. Behind us was 25 feet of perfect explorable forest and then the creek. The weather was beautiful, mid 70's during the day but it did get down to the 40's at night. Campfires came in handy!
I myself am not a huge fan of cold, murky creeks. I know, call me silly! I was quickly dubbed the photographer to catch all the fun moments! The creek had a current going down the middle that the kids could ride down. All they had to do was jump into it, and they would quickly float downstream. The boys loved the rope swing. It was basically a rope tied to a tree that they could fling themselves off of into the water!

Our campsite and trailer are off to the left. You can't see it but you can get an idea of what the area looked like! Amazing!
Cute little toes staying warm!

The rest of the trip soon to come...

First Day of School
Another school year has started. It's amazing to me that the boys are in 2nd and 5th grade already. Last year they tried to boycott first day pictures. This year we told them if they didn't cooperate, Dad would sing "Mary had a Little Lamb" really loud at school drop off. Since they know he isn't kidding, that he would sing, they were all smiles! They are definitely crazy kiddos!
(Sara doesn't start until next week so I'll do another First Day Photo shoot for her then.)
Barbie needed to join the fun!
If you look closely you can see his little smirk under that "manly, serious pose".
They wanted a picture of their backpacks but it morphed into more silliness!
No backpack but following her brothers! Darn cute!!
