Little hands, little feet

At two weeks of age I took each of the kids to get hand/footprints done. There is a lady in the area who makes the impressions in clay. It is outragously priced but one of those things I'm so glad we did. With each of the kids I ordered one with a hand and foot (see pictures) then also a surfboard with two feet. The surfboards now hang in Iain's class for all his students to see. There is nothing like a 7 inch long surfboard with two tiny feet on it!

The circles are for me to keep here at home. Sara's will go up on the wall of her room. I just recently took the boy's down when we re-did their room. I figured they were old enough to have other things hanging up (sniff sniff).

I really don't have anything profound to say. I just can't believe how big these little guys/gal are growing and how quickly! (yet another sniff sniff)

Photo shoot gone awry

This started out as such a good idea, or at least I thought so! Who needs professional pictures when I can take them myself, right? Well unfortunetly the answer is "WRONG"! I went out and bought a black sheet for the backdrop and I was ready to go. Now all I needed was three willing particicpants and we'd be set. As you will see it was far from three willing participants. Participant #1 was way too cool for my antics, participant #2 was actually very willing and ready but #3, well, she lasted for a few pictures and was very done!

Not a bad start right? It had potential! Well keep looking!

Just as Iain decided it wasn't so bad Sara started to fade!

It didn't take long for Little Participant #3 to decide our photo shoot needed to end! The boys went into 'pacify Sara' mode and were doing everything in there power to calm her down!

They were successful but not without wearing themselves out! (Iain isn't asleep, he's just resting his head!)

As you can see our first family photo shoot wasn't quite the success I had hoped for! Don't worry, I won't give up!

P-P-P-P-Piglet

Thanks to Jen and Emma, Sara has a ton of clothes in her current size. So many in fact that I've been changing her mid-day just to make sure they all get worn and admired! Of course I think they all look adorable on her and would post a wardrobe shot of her each day if I thought it wouldn't bore you all to pieces. This outfit though, deserves a special picture to itself. We still haven't figured out if it's jammies or a regular outfit but either way it's just too cute!

House of...lavender?

A few months back when I was still preganant, I met a woman who also had two boys and then a little girl. We started talking and she told me they lovingly called their daughter 'pink dot in a house of blue'. I thought it was so cute! When Sara was first born that is exactly how we felt. Everything around us was boy related and then along came our splash of pink. Now of course she has taken over and sometimes I think we are 'the splashes in her house of pink' but that's another story for another day! There have been several occasions when I've found Iain T. or Sean cuddled up on the couch with one of Sara's blankets. The perfect blend of pink and blue. Does that make us the house of....lavender?

What a difference a month can make...

I can't believe it's been a month since I've posted on here. Time has been flying by at amazing speeds these past few weeks. Sara is now 9 weeks old and still cute as a button. She's so animated and full of smiles and giggles. All you have to do is look at her and she grins from ear to ear.

Her new milestone is fantastic sleeping. This week she has been going 8-8 1/2 hours each night! I can't tell you how nice it is to go to sleep at 9:30pm and not be woken up until 5:30am or so! I thank her each and every morning for the nice sleep I've had! She's also really chubbin' up! Her cheeks are getting big and sqwishy! At 8 weeks she weighed in at 11lbs 5oz and 23 1/2 inches long. She's been busy growing these past few weeks. Maybe that explains all the sleeping?!?

Iain has also been a busy boy these last few weeks. Last weekend he was in an Indian Guides bowling tournament and took first place for the Kindergartners! He scored a 116!! Funny since the last time I bowled I scored a 63! The trophy was a bowling pin with indian designs on it. He took it to school for sharing...too cute! He was and still is very proud!

Sean has also been a busy little bee. After much thought we decided to pull him out of his preschool and give him some time off. Last Friday was his last day so we made cupcakes for the kids in his class. He and Iain had so much fun frosting them!

Starting in April he'll be back in speech two mornings a week and then a new school two mornings also. We have a friend who teaches a preschool class through the city of HB that we thought would be great for him. He knows her and is very excited to be in Miss Renee's class. We've also found a great new school for him that he will attend in the fall. It's at a Methodist Church that has a preschool on site. It came highly recommended to us by two close friends and when we went to look at it, we loved it! We feel lucky to have found it!

There's a few of the happenings around here. I'm hoping to be able to update more often than once a month!
