A party for our Little Wahine

The party was a success! It was filled with friends, family and lots of food, all the makin's of a good time! Sara was loving all the attention! Of course the cake was quite a hit too! She started out daintily eating it but soon dug right in. She even started sticking her frosting covered hands in the drooling onlookers mouths! There weren't any complaints from the recipients!!

365 days of Pretty

As most of you know, yesterday was Sara's 1st birthday! I'm not sure she knew it from any other day but the rest of us sure did! You would've thought it was one of the boy's birthdays by how excited they were! It's very cute to watch them make such a fuss over her!

We've always made it a tradition to take the birthday person out to dinner at the restaurant of his/her choice. We thought breakfast would be more up Sara's alley. So she started out the day with some yummy mouse shaped pancakes (sans butter and syrup for anyone overly concerned about her nutritional intake) and fruit. Then after hours of fun and playing and about 50 rounds of 'Happy Birthday' she devoured a chocolate cupcake. I have to add that her Daddy and big brother Iain went to the store and bought Hello Kitty cupcakes! It was a big step for Iain T to pick out anything remotely girlish! Way to go Iain!!!

Her party is today so I can't post about that yet, but I'm sure I will tomorrow! I'll leave you all with a few pics. I just can't believe how fast the past year has gone! Sniff-sniff! Here's our little girl!

(Just wanted to clarify the title of this post...The day Sara was born Iain looked at her and referred to her as "Pretty". Since then, that is the name he calls her. I guess there is something to be said for Daddy's Little Girl!!)

Happy New Year

I'm so behind here that I don't know where to start to catch up! We've enjoyed Christmas, New Years and everything in between! Why don't we start with Christmas...it was wonderful! The kids were all completely spoiled and loving all of the new toys. Iain and Sean have been outside zooming their new remote control cars every day! Up hills, down curbs, through puddles...aren't these the things little boys dream of? As for Sara, I think it's official that she now has every light up, music playing toy on the planet. She loves the songs and will dance each time they play!

We decided chocolate fondue would be a great way to ring in the New Year. If you ask me, chocolate is a nice way to ring in anything!!! We had some neighbors over and dipped everything from fruit, to cookies, to cake! Sounds like a healthy evening huh? Healthy, no...yummy, yes!!

We've also been bike riding, frequenting parks, seeing movies and just having a great time! It's been nice having Iain home to do all these fun things with us! I do have one other bit of exciting news but I think it deserves a post of it's own so you'll all just have to wait!
