Sorry no update

I'm very behind here! Yes, the kiddos are all better. We got the news from the Dr. on Tuesday night that they were officially cootie- free. Iain went back for his last day festivities and all is well.

We have been enjoying the first few days of summer. This crazy heat wave we've had has been...well crazy! When it's 85-90 here you know it's hot. We've been at the pool everyday, bbqing with the neighbors. Iain starts teaching summer school tomorrow. He switches districts and teaches Special Ed for the summers. It's 5 weeks, Monday - Thursday so not too long. Then he'll have August off.

Both boys got hair cuts this weekend also. Iain's long hair is now very short. I DID NOT want him to cut it, but I figured it's his hair. He's at an age where he should be able to choose. It was hard though! Sean's is still the same long style just shorter for summer. Our camera died last week (water balloon popped on it at Iain's class party) so I don't have pics right now. Ironically enough, Iain's (hubby) 1st grade class gave him a digital camera as an end of year gift. We've decided to use that this summer then buy a new one once school starts.

So here's yet another update without pictures. Sorry! I have to install the cd for the new camera before I can get pictures up for you all. At the rate that I'm accomplishing things these days, it may take some time!

When the going gets tough...

...the tough go to the beach!

I thought today would be a perfect day to venture out to the beach. The weather is beautiful, we wouldn't infect anyone with throat cooties and the kids could just lay around!

Iain wasn't into laying around, he was full of energy. I can tell when he's faking it and when he really feels better. He was truly feeling well! He was having a great time in the water. (For anyone concerned, and you know who you are...we only stayed an hour and a half, and I made sure he didn't over do it.)Trying to surf his Boogie Board

Sean was definitely in slower mode. He chose to lay around most of the time, except for a brief stint at throwing the football. We watched birds, watched surfers and watched his brother!! I think he enjoyed the fresh air!

Sara was also in a mellow mood. She sat on her towel and played with toys most of the time. Toward the end she climbed in the stroller and played in there.

Of course she had to pick the sand out of her toes the entire way home!

One is the lonliest number

One blister. Iain has one. Not twenty like Sean, just one. Unfortunately that is enough to keep him out of school today. If you can remember back to being 8 years old and how fun the last few days of school are, you can imagine how sad he is this morning. We're having him gargle with salt water, in hopes of drying "it" out. "It" really needs to go away! Tomorrow is his last day of school so we have all day to will "it" away!

The Trifecta

Wow what a few days! All three kids are down for the count. We did finally get a diagnosis today and it's not strep...it's hand, foot and mouth (but I guess it's a strain that only effects the mouth). I guess we can call it Mouth!! ;-) The poor kiddos! Seany had a 105 fever with vomiting on Saturday night. It was very scary! The fever has finally broken but now his throat is full of blisters, which makes eating quite uncomfortable! Sara woke up Sunday morning with the fever and now has the blisters. Thank goodness she didn't get the vomiting but she isn't eating either. Then yesterday afternoon Iain came down with the fever. He doesn't have any blisters. The Dr. said since he is older it's possible he is getting a lighter case, but it's also possible that the blisters are still to come. This is his last week of school and he is very upset to be missing it! We are really hoping for the 'avoiding the blisters' option for him!! No one wants to miss the last day of school!

They are all being troopers about the whole thing. Poor Seany was throwing up all morning (which I guess can go with this Mouth version of the virus). He'd walk around the house carrying a bowl "just in case". He is the sweetest little thing! It's hard to see them all like this! Iain is bored and trying everything to get outside and back to school. I'm taking that as a good sign! He can't be feeling too bad if he wants back to school, right? His temp right now is 100.5 so he's still got a fever but not too high. Sean and Sara have been asleep for 2 hours and 15 minutes as of now. Keep sleeping little ones!!

Well, I'll keep you all posted on our big cootie fest!

Happy Mother's Day Daddy!

Today is the day to celebrate Iain!

Iain, Sean and Sara are the luckiest kids to have you as their Daddy!

Thank you for all you do for us!!

Sara has been walking around the house all day saying "Happy Mother's Day Daddy". It's so cute!

On a separate note all three kids are sick...strep throat I think. The white bumps all over Sean's throat lead me to that conclusion.

Sean came down with a fever on Saturday. Sara first thing this morning and Iain this afternoon. Sean is the first to show the white bumps and a sore throat. Hopefully a dr. appt in the morning will help the other two avoid that part! I have more detailed stories, but no time. Three small kids are sitting on my couch wanting cuddles. That's where I need to be!
To all the dad's out there, Happy Father's Day!

Iain's choice

This year instead of a birthday party, Iain went another route. He invited a friend from school to an evening of video games and junk food! After school we drove to Dave and Busters, where we played video games for what felt like hours upon hours. Iain was into the games that paid out tickets. He wanted to buy prizes at the end. Sean was into the ones that involved driving a car or motorcycle. Sara just wanted the tickets. Every time she saw anyone win one, she would try to get it into her pocket. Iain (bigger of the two) started playing games just so she had tickets to get.

After a dinner that had more calories than I consumed last month (and maybe a stop for ice cream), we headed home for Iain's first sleepover at our house. He's slept at other peoples houses but never had anyone over here. Not sure why, I'm not a stingy mom or anything!!

The Romo clad child is mine!Sean loved riding this Harley! With "her" tickets she got a Carebear and these jelly bracelets

The dancing game! The shapes on the floor would light up and they were suppose to stomp on them to create a dance.

She was really playing this driving game!

Isn't he just so cute!

The Iain's!

We all had a great time! Sean and Sara fell instantly asleep when their sweet heads hit their pillows. Iain and his friend watched a movie but were asleep by 9:30pm, not too bad for a sleepover!!

*There is one more Sean story from the evening but I'll do a separate post for that tomorrow.*

Prima Ballerina

This morning Sean had his friend Emma over for a play date. Sara and I were trying to stay out of the way, or I was trying to keep Sara out of the way, so we went upstairs to have some girly fun. First there was tea and making food with her play kitchen, then we went on to dress up. Usually she starts with the cheerleader outfit, then wears the mix matched things (wizard hat with Obi Won Kenboi pants, long striped socks with bunny ears...). This time she went straight for the ballerina outfit. Funny enough her hair was already pulled back into two buns on the side of her head from swimming. I know I'm biased but I think she's a darn cute ballerina!

Finale

This past Friday was a very big day for us. Seany finished preschool! I'm still a bit in shock about the whole thing. I can't believe my little boy is on his way to kindergarten. I know he has all summer still but it's amazing to me! I have to say that waiting the "bonus year" was the BEST thing we have ever done. He is so much more secure with himself and ready to go to school. He has truly found his voice this past year. We're very pleased with the progress he has made in the past few months. This was Sean on his first day of preschool. He had just turned 4, so little! Since he had the same amazing, wonderful, supportive and loving teacher for two years, he has a very special bond with her. There were definitely some tears when we said good bye, along with lots of hugs! These pictures are from the last day picnic.Piggy Back ridesAfter everyone ate lunch they offered ice cream cones. Sean and Sara waited in line together, holding hands. So cute!
Walking back, still holding handsSara isn't very use to ice cream cones. She went right for the side!

End of an era

It's the end of a season, baseball season that is. The last 4 months have been about games, batting practice and field events. I'm feeling a bit relieved and happy to have more free time but I will definitely miss the games. There is nothing like watching your own child succeed in a sport. I should fill you all in on the final game for Iain's team though. I'm sure no one is on the edge of their seats or anything but I did leave you all hanging. They did not win. Luckily the disappointment did not last long though. At the closing ceremony on Friday night, they were all thrilled to receive their 2nd place trophies! There was not a disappointed face in the bunch!! Here are a few pictures from that night (with cities and last names edited out of pictures)...

GO GIANTS GO!

Go Giants!!!!!

Last night Iain's team won another playoff game to land in the finals! The team they played, had beat them twice before, and by alot!! We kept pumping the boys up, telling them they could do it!!! Well they played phenomenally, and deserved the win!! Yay, Giants!!! When the season started they were 0-5, not a great record. They have come back and now the last game of the playoffs is tomorrow night! I have to say that the team they are playing is 18-1 (we are 14-5), but the only game they lost was to us. If we did it once two weeks ago we can do it again! The final game is Thursday night at 5:30pm!

*Yes, I have gotten a smidge competitive these last few months. When you hear of coaches who pick all older kids (just to have the skill) or bad mouth the kids if they mess up, it feels really good to be on a winning team that is playing fair!*

Car photo shoot

Last Friday morning while Sara and I were cleaning out the car, she asked me to take her picture. Once I had the camera up and ready, she turned into a little ham!

Posing so sweetly!
Belting out Happy Birthday to Iain

Happy Birthday Iain!

Yep, that's right everyone! The kiddo turned 8 years old yesterday. Amazing as it seems, it's true! (Like the pasta hanging out of his mouth?)

He had a great day doing the things he loves! The first part of the morning was Angels Day for baseball. They were able to meet and get autographs from a few of the professional players. He loved every second of it! Then his team had a playoff game in the afternoon. They won and to top it off he caught a fly ball in the last inning to end the game! If life could ever be more exciting than that, the team all sang happy birthday to him then poured water all over his head! When you're an 8 year old boy, that's cool! The evening was rounded out with dinner at CPK and a hot fudge sundae the size of his head!

This is the gift we got him, "Ripstik G". (You know your kids are getting big when you buy them presents you won't even ride!!) It took him a few minutes but he was off and riding alot sooner than we thought he'd be! It only has two wheels, one on each end. It's hard to balance!!!

This is what happens when you let your Uncle squirt whipped cream into your mouth!!

Happy Birthday Boo-Boo! We love you!!
