Sea World Adventure

This weekend was the long awaited Sea World trip. We've been planning for weeks now and the boys have been beyond excited. We went online and looked at the all the fun activities and shows that we would be seeing. So many thing to do!! After much discussion we decided to have two days at Sea World instead of one. We hoped that would allow us to see as much as the kids wanted without having complete burn out. The result was an absolutely fantastic time had by all. I could definitely post pictures all day long but since I'm forced to just pick a few, I'll try and find some highlights.

Iain T. has always wanted to work with animals when he "grows up". After this weekend the dream is stronger than ever. He has now decided that he wants to train killer whales! I have to admit after seeing the Shamu show, I would love to do it too! There were 4 trainers that were lucky enough to glide in the water with her (him??). It was amazing! Who knew that a 6000lb whale could jump up and do flips in the air?? Crazy! This picture was taken after a flip, right as he (she??) was going back into the water.

This next shot is of a Beluga Whale in the Arctic Exhibit. They kind of fall into the "so ugly they're cute" category. Have to love a face like that!!

This last one is of Iain T. He rarely lets us get a picture these days so we're always thrilled to get a smiling one!

The big 3-6 !

How does it feel to be closer to the big 4-0 than to 30? I don't know, you'll have to ask Iain! Hee hee!

As I'm sure you all guessed Iain had a birthday this past week. We started the day with a few presents then spent the rest of the day at Sea World. After some much needed showers we headed to a restaurant for celebratory fajitas! Yummy! The waitress was plannig her best/loudest rendition of "Happy Birthday" when Iain decided he wanted to avoid the scene. He was game for it until she announced that flan was the birthday dessert. Blech!!! It just seemed like too much to not get a yummy dessert out of it. Here's a picture taken at the hotel right before bedtime. Not the best time for a birthday photo but still a birthday photo!

Happy Birthday my love! Just remember, you don't look a day over 35!!!

Avocado, yummy!

Don't have a lot to say but I wanted to post these fun and messy pictures. Peas and avocados seem to be favorites right now. We've been putting avo in her little mesh feeding thing (see pic on right) and she loves it! As you can see it makes quite a mess but she enjoys it so much!

Sara went for her 6 month check up this week and she is still such a little peanut at 15lbs 11oz. Such a little nugget! I just love how small and compact she is. I also love that she gets so much more use out of her clothes! All of which are quite cute, I have a shopping habit that is a tad out of control. Just a tad though!!

I know this started about avocado but since I already made it off on the clothes tangent I may as well venture further. Here's a picture of Sara's two bottom teeth. (you can click on the pic to make it bigger) Aren't they adorable? Yes, she is covered in food in this one too!

Change in Command

Let the games begin everyone! Miss Sara is mobile! She's been flirting with crawling for a few weeks now. She rolls from side to side at an angle to get where she wants to be. But this morning, she let us know she's no longer fooling around. Iain T. left the remote control right in the middle of the downstairs rug, her eyes lit up and off she went. She used the "inch worm", which closely resembles a wounded soldier, as her mode of transportation. Her little butt goes up in the air and she pulls with her arms. Once she reached the remote and pushed a few buttons with her teeth and chin, the boys morning cartoons were gone! The look on her face was pure satisfaction! I had to laugh that her first bit of mischief was directed at Iain and Sean!! They were both semi annoyed that 'Scooby Doo' was gone but at the same time thrilled that she was moving around. They were on the floor trying to get her to do a replay, which she didn't do. I think she just wanted to give them a little taste of what life will soon be like.

Marching Indians

On the 4th of July the boys were in a local parade for Indian Guides. It was only suppose to be "Little Braves" and their dads but we let Sean join in the fun too. All the boys in the tribe dress up in indian vests and walk down the street painting faces of the people watching the parade. They have red, white and blue face painting crayons and become little Picassos. As you can see even Sara got some honorary stripes for her first parade.

Uncle Sam wears chonies

There are several perks to being married to a teacher...holidays off, summer vacation, early hours. A great perk that comes with Iain being a 1st grade teacher are the crafts he brings home. The boys look forward to each and every activity. They are always delighted to see what will come home next! Friday night when I was at work the boys were busy making Uncle Sam costumes. They colored, they cut and they twisted pipe cleaners until there fingers were raw (alright not quite but makes for a more dramatic feel doesn't it???) The finished product is well worth all their hard work!
Happy 4th of July!
