Happy Birthday Part 2 - The Fun!

Fun, fun and more fun! We sure had a good time celebrating Iain's birthday this year. I really should be calling it birth-"week" instead if birth-"day". It was stretched out for quite some time. It started last Friday night. We took two of his friends (plus Sean of course) to Boomers. For you non-locals, it's a place that has some rides, arcade games and pizza. They were running around from ride to ride...game to game, having a fantastic time! Turns out the place closed early that night so we ended up eating at another pizza place. The boys didn't seem to mind though. We then finished off the evening with some ice cream! Can't go wrong there!!

The very wet group after the bumper boats.

Sean, Sara and I crammed into the 'slow train'. Sean was having fun, this picture obviously doesn't give you that feeling though!

Sean and Iain on the ferris wheel. Sean wasn't so sure at first, it was high! He ended up loving it!

Guess it was pretty high!

Then on Iain's actual birthday, we had a few presents in the morning and off to school he went. Sean couldn't understand why Iain and Daddy had to go to school on a birthday. We never thought about it but Sean's bday is in the summer, so everyone is always around for his!! Anyway, we took Iain to school and stood at the gate with a few other parents screaming "Happy Birthday Iain" and "Iain is the birthday boy". He was completely mortified, hiding his head, even though I could see a smile under there!!. As far as I'm concerned, he's fair game for things like that one day a year! After school we picked him up and headed to the park with some friends. We brought pizza and cupcakes and enjoyed the afternoon there.

Iain at the parkIain (hubby) was able to meet us there as a little birthday surprise!! Iain was thrilled! He opened a few more presents before we headed back home to open the presents from us. He was thrilled with all of the great gifts! Everyone was very generous!! The 'big' surprise from us was a guitar. He is going to be starting lessons so we thought we'd get him his own! He loved it!!

S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E!!!Think he likes it????He took it straight to the neighbors house, the one who is going to give him lessons, to get it tuned! They had a brief lesson and he sat practicing! It was adorable! The night ended with some fattening and oh so yummy Mexican food and an ice cream cake! Even after all of that, we still have two more family get togethers for more celebrating! The fun continues!

Sara definitely has her mother's sweet tooth!

As you can see, we all had more than our share of fun this past week! Iain felt very special and enjoyed every minute of it!
