4th of July

I know I'm back tracking quite a bit here, but I'm really trying to catch up. I'm about done with all the 'events' but still have cute little tid bits to tell.

This year we changed up the 4th. We've been doing the same thing each year for so long, we thought it was time to step out of our box a little. The boys started out the morning in the local parade with Grandad. They were on top of a firetruck waving to all the parade watchers! SO cute! When they got home we went over to a friend's house for a bbq and swim. The kids ran around and played/swam for hours. Once it got dark we went and met some other friends for fireworks. Fireworks are not allowed in our city so we met a few families in a parking lot about 10 minutes away. We had so much fun! The kids were able to light some of the smaller ones, while the adults lit the big ones. Iain was in the middle of it all like a little pyro. Even though we hadn't been there before, it seemed to be the "parking lot" of choice for many families we know. By the end there were probably close to 100 people, if not more. From where we were, we were able to see several other shows going on in the sky as well. Nothing like a sky full of fireworks!
After the parade.
This is after the parade too! Not quite sure if he was going for the Einstein look?? It's so him though. He's a crack up!

Silly boy!

She wasn't so sure of the loud booms that were going on everywhere.

Digging through the stockpile to see what he wanted to light next.
