This leads us to swimming lessons! Iain has learned freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke and now he's on to the breaststroke. He's also been diving and is now practicing the racing dive. He's been water safe for years now but we've kept him in the lessons just to refresh and learn technique. This summer he has really taken off! He has even mentioned joining swim team next spring!!
He's really done well with his side breathing!
Sean is also doing really well with swimming! He is also completely water safe but was lacking in the confidence to go in deep. He now has confidence coming out his ears! He'll jump in or do a knee dive into the deep end and swim, with arms and the occasional gasp for breath, all the way across the pool! The back floating king!
Then there is Sara! Oh' Little Miss Sara! This little girl has no fear! She walks right into the pool, no problem!! She even walks down the steps until she is under water and when we pull her up, she giggles! Much to our surprise she screamed at lessons! The first three times we went, she boycotted the whole experience, screamed from start to finish! The day of her fourth lesson, she went in with a smile and it hasn't left! Believe it or not, this little girl will now jump off the side into the pool and if the teacher asks her to swim and puts her in the water, she will kick her legs and swim!!! She looks like a little torpedo flying through the water! (I'll post the happy pics tomorrow. I promise she loves it now!)
Sara's first lesson! Not a very happy camper!
